About Gaus Pak:


Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jelani رضي الله عنه was a noted Hanbali preacher, Sufi sheikh and the eponymous founder of the Qadiri Sufi order (selsela). He was born in Ramadan AH 470 (about AD 1077) in the Persian province of Gilan (Iran) south of the Caspian sea. His contribution and renown in the sciences of Sufism and Sharia was so immense that he became known as the spiritual pole of his time, al-Gauth al Azam (the "Supreme Helper" or the "Mightiest Succor"). His writings were similar to those of al-Ghazali in that they dealt with both the fundamentals of Islam and the mystical experience of Sufism.


Parents and Early Life:


Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه was a Sufi master and Syed (descendant of the Prophet Muhammad) from both his father and mother. His father Abu Saleh Jangidost رحمتہ اللہ علیہ, was an illustrious and God-fearing man. Once while engrossed in meditation by the bank of a river he saw an apple floating down the river. He picked it up and ate it. It struck to him that he ate the apple without paying for it so he set out in search of the owner, on the bank of the river and at last reached the owner of the apple orchard "Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ" whom he requested to tell him the price of the apple, Abdullah Somai رضي الله عنه replied that it was an expensive thing. Syed Abu Saleh رحمتہ اللہ علیہ replied that he had not much by way of worldly material but he, could serve him for compensation. Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ then asked him to work for a year in the orchard. In course of time the duration was extended several times.


In the end Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ admitted that he had served him in excess of the price and desired to reward him. Abu Saleh رحمتہ اللہ علیہ hesitated in accepting it but when Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ persisted, he relented. He said he had a daughter, blind of eyes, handicapped of hands and feet and wanted to give her in marriage to him. In this way Abu Saleh رحمتہ اللہ علیہ was married to Abdullah Somai's رحمتہ اللہ علیہ daughter, Syeda Fatimah رضي الله عنه. To his astonishment found her wondrously beautiful and wholesome. He complained to his father-in-law that he found her exactly the opposite to what he had described her. Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ insisted on the truthfulness of his statement. She was blind because she had not seen any Ghair Mehram (a man who could marry her). She was mute because she had not uttered a word repugnant to the Shariah (Islamic law). She was deaf because she had not heard anything inconsistent with the Shariah. She was handicapped of hand and feet because she had never moved in the direction of evil.


Abdul Qadir Jilani's رضي الله عنه father died soon after and the young orphan was reared up by his mother and his grandfather, Abdullah Somai رحمتہ اللہ علیہ.

Adult life:

At the age of 18 he went to Baghdad on AH 488 (1095 AD), where he pursued the study of Hanbalite law under several teachers. His mother sewed 40 gold coins in his quilt so that he might spend them when needed. The dacoits struck the caravan on the way, and looted all the passengers of their belongings. They asked him what he had. He replied that he had 40 gold coins. The dacoits took his reply for a joke and took him to their chief, who asked him the same question and he again replied that he had 40 gold coins. He demanded him to show, upon whom he tore away, the quilt and produced the gold coins. He was surprised and asked him why he had given the hidden gold coins when he could have kept them hidden. Young Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه replied that he was travelling to Baghdad to receive education and his mother had instructed him to speak the truth. This left a deep effect on the Chief of the dacoits and he gave up looting.


Abdul Qadir jilani رضي الله عنه received lessons on Islamic Jurisprudence from Abu Said Ali al-Mukharrimi رحمتہ اللہ علیہ, Hadith from Abu-Bakra-bin-Muzaffar رضي الله عنه, and commentary (tafseer) from the renowned commentator, Abu Muhammad Jafar رحمتہ اللہ علیہ.


In Sufism, his spiritual instructor was Shaikh Abu'l-Khair Hammad رحمتہ اللہ علیہ. From him, he received his basic training, and with his help he set out on the spiritual journey. Abu Shuja رحمتہ اللہ علیہ 'was also a disciple of Shaikh Hammad رحمتہ اللہ علیہ, once he said: "Shaikh Abdul Qadir was in the company of Shaikh Hammad, so he came and sat in front of him, observing the best of good manners, until he stood up and took his leave. I heard Shaikh Hammad say, as soon as Shaikh Abdul Qadir had left: 'This non-Arab has a foot that will be raised, when the proper time comes, and placed upon the necks of the saints of that time. He will surely be commanded to say: This foot of mine is upon the neck of every saint of Allah. He will surely say it, and the necks of all the saints of his age will surely be bent at his disposal. "


Hazrat Junayd Baghdadi رحمتہ اللہ علیہ (died AD 910), who died about 167 years before the birth of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه, predicted about him on an occasion, when he was performing meditation & during that he said: " His foot will be over all Saints' necks. " After finishing meditation, his disciples asked him about his words, he replied: "One Sufi would be born in the future, who would be greater than all saints." Thus, Shaikh Hammad رحمتہ اللہ علیہ proved the words of Hazrat Junayd رحمتہ اللہ علیہ as right. The historians say that, later Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه also repeated the same words on many occasion by himself.


Popular Sufi Sheikh:


After completion of education, Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه abandoned the city of Baghdad, and spent twenty-five years as a wanderer in the desert regions of Iraq as a recluse. He was over fifty years old by the time he returned to Baghdad, in AH 521 (AD 1127), and began to preach in public. His hearers were profoundly affected by the style and content of his lectures, and his reputation grew and spread through all sections of society. Not only Muslims, but also suspected and Christians, not only caliphs and viziers but also farmers, merchants and traders allegedly altered their lives in response to Abdul Qadir jilani's رضي الله عنه perorations. He moved into the school belonging to his old teacher al-Mukharrimii رحمتہ اللہ علیہ, there he engaged himself in teaching. Soon he became popular with his pupils. In the morning he taught hadith and tafseer, and in the afternoon held discourse on mysticism and the virtues of the Qur'an. The number of students increased so much that the seminary could no more contain them. He, therefore, decided to extend the premises of the seminary. The students and the people willingly came forward with their wholehearted contributions. The campus buildings were ready in AH 528 and thereafter it came to be known as Madarsai-e-Qadriya.


Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه was a Non-Arab (ajami), so he was not fluent in Arabic and was having some difficulties because of it. Once the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم came to him in a dream, before the time of the midday prayer (Zuhr), and he said to him: "O my dear son, why do you not speak out?" He replied: "O dear father, I am a Non-Arab man. How can I speak fluently in the classical Arabic language of Baghdad?" Holy Prophet said: "Just open your mouth!" He opened his mouth, and the Holy Prophet put his saliva seven times in his mouth. A few moments later, Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه also came & did the same to him six times. And from that time, Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه spoke classical Arabic language with fluency, his memory increased and he felt some great positive spiritual changes in him.


Once some one asked Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه about Mansur Al-Hallaj رحمتہ اللہ علیہ, he replied: "His claim extended too far, so the scissors of the Sacred Law (Shari'a) were empowered to clip it. "
He busied himself for forty years in the service of the Islam from AH 521 to 561. During this period hundreds embraced Islam because of him and organized several teams to go abroad for the purpose. He arrived in Indian sub-continent in AD 1128, and stayed at Multan (Pakistan). He died in AH 561 (AD 1166) at the age of 91 years, and was buried in Baghdad.



The King of Jinns:


Bushair bin Mahfooz رحمتہ اللہ علیہ states that once my daughter, Fatima, all of a sudden vanished from the roof of my house. I got worried and want to the blessed presence of Sayyed-e-na Ghouse-e-Pak رضي الله عنه and requested for help. He told me to go to Karkh, and during the night sit in a deserted place forming a fort (Hisar) around himself. Over there think about them and say: "Bismillah" during the darkness of night groups of Jinns will pass by you, their faces will be very strange, do not get scared by looking at them, at the time of sahari the KING OF JINNS will come to you and will ask you about your requirement. Tell him, "Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani has sent me from Baghdad (my requirement is that) you search my daughter."


Hence, I went to the ruins of 'Karkh' and followed the instructions of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam رضي الله عنه. During the silence of night, horrifying Jinns kept on passing outside my hisar. The faces of the Jinns were so horrifying that I could not look at them. At the time of sahari, the KING of JINNS came on a horse back, there were Jinns surrounding him. He asked my demand from outside the hisar. I told him that Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam رضي الله عنه has sent me to you. As soon as he heard this, he got down the horse and sat on the ground. The other Jinns too sat outside the hisar.


I narrated the incident of the disappearance of my daughter. He announced amongst all the Jinns, "Who has taken the girl?" Within moments the Jinns caught a Chinese Jinn and presented him as the culprit. The King of the Jinns asked him why did you pick the girl up from the city of the Highest Cadre in Spiritual Pivot (Qutub) of the time? He said, while shivering, Your Highness! After looking at her I fell in love with her. The King ordered the Chinese Jinn to be beheaded and returned my wonderful daughter to me. I thanked the King of the Jinns and said, as Allah will! You are an ardent lover of Sayyed-e-na Ghouse-e-Pak رضي الله عنه. He then replied, "I SWEAR UPON ALLAH WHEN HUZOOR GHOUS-E-PAK رضي الله عنه LOOKS TOWARDS US, ALL THE JINNS START TREMBLING. WHEN ALL NOMINATES AS QUTUB OF TIME THEN ALL THE JINNS AND HUMANS ARE ORDERED TO FOLLOW." (Bahjaa-tul-Asraar)


All the Jinns start trembling (with fear) on hearing your name. Your Have that majestic awe 'O, Ghous-e-Azam Dastgir.

The Month of Ghaus-ul-Azam Dastagir
THE GREATEST SAINT OF ALL TIME


If Rabi-ul-Awwal is the month of the greatest prophet of Allah then Rabi-us-Sani, is the month of the greatest Saint of Allah. If the prophet drew the veil on this world to meet his Creator on the 12th of the month, the Saint departed on the 11th of the next month, as if a mark of distinction from the Almighty Himself. The name of this greatest of the great saints is Hazrat Syed Shah Abu Mohammad Muhyuddin Abdul Quader Jilani Al-Hassani wal Hussaini ShaenenLillah (Alaihis Salam). Many are the honored titles of this great saint, Muhyiuddin (the Reviver of the Faith), Peer-an-e-Peer (the Spiritual Teacher of Spiritual Teachers), Mahbub-e-Subhani (the Beloved of the Supreme), Ghaus- us-Sakalaen (the Ghaus of both worlds), and Kutb-e-Rabbani (the Cardinal Star of the Lord) and many others, but the most well known and respected being Ghaus-ul-Azam (the Supreme Spiritual Helper. It is told that 'his feet is on the shoulder of all Saints of Allah'.


Today, a concept known as Wahabism pervades many aspects of Islamic life. This concept holds that man can connect directly with his Creator with no need for intercession. This is a product of modern day arrogance coupled with the obsession with rationality that originates from Descartes ’statement,‘ I think, so I am ’. Today, man wants to understand the Creator and his creation through arrogance and reasoning and not through submission to His Will. Profound Ayats of the Quran are unwisely interpreted as license to approach the Creator directly through falling into the abyss of self-conceit and foolhardiness. And this is the reason of his spiritual emptiness. It is a pity that now-a-days we practice Islam in its outward form but we stray far away from its true purpose and its true beauty. If love is the best and final magic of the Creator then what enchanting love the Saints can lead us to! Oh, what sense of perfection that one can achieve if one receives the true touch of faith through the Saints. One micro-second moment of glory from the Glory of the Almighty can make a man mad in spiritual ecstasy for the rest of his life. He can achieve success in both worlds, here on this earth, and in the hereafter. This can only be achieved through the intercession of the spiritual Sufi Master, through accomplished Saints, and, definitely, even today, through Ghaus-ul-Azam, who is living, albeit behind the curtain and can be approached through the humble heart. Saints go through various stations in their journey towards union with the Almighty. These stations are known as wilayets, or territories or temporary resting places. The station of a Saint depends on his wilayet and the one of Ghaus-ul-Azam is the highest that can be achieved.


Ghaus-ul-Azam drew the veil over himself on 11th Rabi-us-Sani in 561 H (1166 AD) at the age of 91. His Mazar Sharif is in Baghdad, which is even today the place of adoration for his disciples, lovers and followers all over the world. It is looked after by his direct descendants who are a source of inspiration and affection to all who visit the great Mazar Sharif there in the Subcontient, the Qadria Tariqa is being carried on by the direct descendants of Ghaus-ul-Azam. There are Khanqas where Giyarawee Sharif is held on the 11th day of each Arabic month. In Sufi philosophy, it is said that it is possible to light one candle from another candle, and once the candles are lit it is impossible to tell one from the other. May the blessings of Ghaus Pak and his descendent peers be upon all Believers.

The Miracles of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani Radiallahu Anh


There are so many miracles of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) that volumes can be written about them. A few will be presented here to give us a glimpse into his spiritual status.
There was a wise and influential priest in Baghdad who had many followers. He knew Islam and the Holy Qur'an and had great love and respect for Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). He was ready to accept Islam except for one thing; he could not understand and therefore accept the physical ascension (Me'raj) of Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) to the heavens and beyond. The caliph introduced all the wise men and teachers of the time to the priest, but none could remove his doubts. The caliph then sent word to Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) requesting him to convince the priest.
When Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) came to the palace he found the caliph and the priest playing chess. As the priest lifted a chess piece to move, his eyes met with those of the Shaikh. He blinked his eyes…. and as he opened them he found himself drowning in a river. He was shouting for help when a young shepherd jumped into the water and saved him. As he came out of the water he realized that he was naked and had been transformed into a young girl. The shepherd asked the girl where she was from and she answered from Baghdad. The shepherd said that they were at a distance of a few months journey from Baghdad. He honored and protected her but as she had nowhere to go he eventually married her and had three children who grew up.
One day as she was washing laundry in the same river where she had appeared many years earlier, she slipped and fell in. As she opened her eyes…. the priest found himself sitting across the caliph, holding the chess piece and still looking into the eyes of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh), who said to him, "Now venerable priest, do you still disbelieve?" The priest was unsure of what had happened and thinking that it was a dream asked, "What do you mean?" The Shaikh asked, "Perhaps you would like to see your family?" and as he opened the door, there stood the shepherd and the three children. Seeing this the priest immediately believed, and he and his followers of about five thousand Christians all became Muslims at the hands of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh).
A young girl who was a follower of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) lived in Ceylon. One day she was attacked in a lonely place by a man intending do dishonour her. Helpless, she shouted, "Save me O my Shaikh Abdul Qadir!" At that moment the Shaikh was performing his ablution in Baghdad. People saw him stop, angrily grab his wooden shoe and throw it in the air. However, they did not see the show fall down. That shoe fell on the head of the man who was attacking the girl in Ceylon and killed him. That shoe is still kept in Ceylon as a relic.
One of the great Shaikhs of the time, Shaikh Muzaffar Mansoor ibn Al Mubarak (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) states, "I came to visit Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) with some students and I was carrying a book on philosophy. He greeted us and then said to me, "What a bad and dirty friend you are holding in your hand! Go and wash it! " I was awed by the Shaikh's anger, he could not have known the contents of this book which I loved and had almost memorized. " When I thought of hiding the book somewhere and fetching it later, he ordered me to give the book to him. As I opened the book for the last time, I saw only empty white pages; all the writing had disappeared. When I gave the book to him, he browsed through it and gave it back to me saying, "Here it is, 'The Book of Excellences of the Qur'an' by Ibn Daaris Muhammad." When I opened it, indeed it had been transformed as he said, and was written in the most beautiful calligraphy. Then he said to me, "Do you wish your heart to repent when you voice your repentance?" I said "Indeed I do." He told me to stand up, and as I did I felt all of my knowledge of philosophy descend from my mind and sink into the ground, and not a word of it remained in my memory. "
Once Shaikh Abu Sa'eed Abdullah bin Ahmad Baghdadi (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) came to Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) and complained about his sixteen-year old daughter Fatima, who had gone onto the roof of the house and suddenly disappeared from there. Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) told him to go to a certain jungle at night. On entering this jungle he would see many sand heaps. He should sit on the fifth sand heap that he passed. He should draw a circle around him saying ‘Bismillah’ and he should then say ‘Abdul Qadir’. Towards the third part of the night, he would find an army of Jinns passing by. They will look really frightening and fierce, but he should not fear. He should remain seated and wait. Exactly at the time of the first light, the most powerful King of the Jinns would pass that way and he would personally come to him and ask his problem. On the King's request, he should explain to him his situation and then tell him that Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) has sent him.
Shaikh Abu Sa'eed Baghdadi (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) states, "I did as Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) said. After some time, I saw armies of Jinns in frightening forms passing by. They were very upset with me sitting in their path, but they passed without saying a word, as they did not have the courage to enter the circle. In the morning, the King passed and asked my request. When I explained my problem to him and told him that Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) had sent me, he got off his horse and stood with respect listening to me. He then sent the Jinns to summon back the Jinn who had captured my daughter. My daughter was brought back and the King ordered the mischievous Jinn to be beheaded. " When Shaikh Abu Sa'eed Baghdadi (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) asked the King about his respect for Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh), the King replied, "By Allah, when Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) looks at us, all the Jinns begin to tremble. "
Once, one of the followers of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) experienced Ihtilaam (wet dream) seventy times in the course of one night. Each time he would see himself with a different woman and upon waking up he would perform the ghusl. Some of the women he saw he actually knew and others were strangers. In the morning he went to Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) intending to complain about his condition. Before he could say anything Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) told him, “You must not feel bad about your state during last night. I saw your name inscribed on the Lawh-e-Mahfooz and I discovered from what was recorded upon it, that you would be guilty of committing adultery no less than seventy times. So I pleaded with Almighty Allah on your behalf until he changed that for you so that instead of being a conscious real-life experience, it would merely be a wet dream. "
Shaikh Umar Abdul Bazzaaz (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) narrates, "One Friday, together with my master, Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) I set out for the mosque. No one greeted him so I thought to myself, "Every normal Friday, we find it hard to get to the mosque due to the crowds that gather around the Shaikh, so what is happening today?" I had barely completed this thought when people came rushing to greet the Shaikh. He looked at me with a smile and said, "O Umar, this is what you wanted! Do you not realize that the hearts of the people are in my hand? If I wish, I move them away from me and if I wish, I attract them towards me. "
Once whilst Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) was delivering one of his lectures, a person by the name of Abul Mu'aali was present in this gathering. He was seated directly in front of the great Saint. During the course of the lecture, Abul Mu'aali found that he needed to answer the call of nature. He tried to suppress this need because he found it disrespectful to leave the gathering of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh). He could no longer suppress it and decided to leave when Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) walked down the pulpit (Mimbar) onto the second step and threw his shawl over him. As this happened, Abul Mu'aali found that he was no longer in the gathering, but rather in a valley with beautiful lush vegetation. It was beautified even more by a stream, which flowed through it. He immediately answered the call of nature, performed wudhu and then prayed two rakaats Salaah. As he completed the Salaah, Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) took the shawl off him and he found, to his amazement, that he was still in the gathering of the great Saint and he had not even missed one word of the lecture. However, much later Abul Mu'aali discovered that he did not have his set of keys with him. He then remembered that when he was transported to the valley by Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) he had hung his key ring on the branch of a tree beside the stream. Abul Mu'aali states that some time after this incident, he had the opportunity to go on a business expedition. During this journey, he reached a valley and rested there. He then noticed that the valley was the same place where he had been transported during the lecture. When he went beside the tree, he found that his missing keys were still hanging on the branch of the tree. Subhaanallah!
The students of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) state that once he was delivering his lessons as usual to them when suddenly his blessed face turned red and beads of perspiration covered his blessed forehead. He then placed his hand into his cloak and remained silent for a short time. After he removed his hand from inside his cloak, drops of water began to drip from his sleeves. Due to his spiritual state, the students did not ask him any questions but rather, they recorded the date, day and time of this astonishing event. Two months after this incident, a group of traders, who had come by sea to Baghdad, arrived and presented various gifts to Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh). The students were very confused by this as they had never seen these traders in Baghdad before. When they asked the traders the reason for bringing them the gifts, they said that two months earlier, whilst they were sailing to Baghdad, their ship was caught in a fierce storm. When they realized that there was a real danger of sinking, they called out to Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh). When they called out to him, they found that from the Unseen a hand lifted their ship to safety. When the students compared this narration to the incident in the Madrassah, it was confirmed that it was the same date, day and time in which the great Saint (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) had put his hand into his cloak. Although Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) seemed to be placing his hand into his cloak, but in reality, he was stretching his hand into the sea to assist those who called for his assistance. Subhaanallah!
A woman of Baghdad who was very impressed by the fame of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) decided to leave her son in his care and said, "Take this child as your own, I renounce all right to him . Raise him to become like you. " The Shaikh accepted the child and started to teach him piety, spirituality etc. After some time the mother came to see her son and found him thin and pale and eating a crust of bread. She was angry and asked to see the Shaikh. When she came upon him she found him well dressed, seated in a pleasant room and eating a chicken. She exclaimed, "While you eat your chicken my poor son, whom I left in your care, has nothing but a piece of dry bread!" The Shaikh placed his hand over the bones of the chicken and said, "In the name of Allah Who revives bones from dust, rise!" The chicken immediately became alive and it ran about the table saying, "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is His Messenger and Shaikh Abdul Qadir is the friend of Allah and His Messenger!" Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) then turned to the woman and said, "When your son can do this, he can also eat whatever he wishes."
Once Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) was delivering a lecture and Shaikh Ali bin Haiti (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) was seated in front of him. During the lecture Shaikh Ali bin Haiti (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) fell asleep. Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) saw this and descended from the Mimbar and stood in front of the sleeping Shaikh Ali bin Haiti (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) with both his hands folded in respect. After a while Shaikh Ali bin Haiti (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) awoke to find Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) standing in front of him. He immediately stood up in respect. Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) smiled and said, "The reason I am standing in front of you is because you were seeing Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in your dream and I was seeing Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ) with my physical eyes. "
Shaikh Adi ibn Musaafir (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) states, “On one occasion while Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) was giving a lecture, a shower of rain descended from the sky. This caused some of the members of the audience to disperse, so he raised his head towards the heaven above and said, "Here I am, gathering people together for Your Translates and You are scattering them away from me like this." The rain at once stopped falling on the courtyard where the lecture was taking place, though the downpour continued unabated beyond the perimeter of the schoolhouse and not a single drop of rain fell on the session. " Subhaanallah!
There was a great Saint by the name of Shaikh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) who used to travel on a lion wherever he went. In every city that he visited it was his habit to ask the people of the city to send one cow for his lion’s meal. One day he traveled to Baghdad, and sent one of his disciples to Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) and commanded that a cow be sent to him, as a meal for his lion. The great Ghaus (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) was already aware of his coming and had already arranged for a cow to be kept for the lion. He sent one of his disciples with the cow to Shaikh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) and as the disciple took the cow with him, a weak and old stray dog ​​which used to sit out the home of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) followed him. The disciple presented the cow to Shaikh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta'ala Anh) who signed to the lion to commence feeding. As the lion ran towards the cow, this weak old dog pounced on the lion. It caught the lion by its throat and killed it by tearing open its stomach. The dog then dragged the lion and threw it before Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh). On seeing this, Shaikh Ahmad Jaam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) humbled himself before the great Ghaus (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and asked for forgiveness for his arrogant behaviour. This shows the strength of a weak old dog due to its Nisbath (connection) with the blessed stoop of Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh). It also shows that even animals recognize and are loyal to the Awliya Allah.
May Allah Ta’ala grant us true love for Huzoor Ghaus-e-Azam (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) and may we, like the weak old dog, always be at the feet and service of Sultanul Awliya Hazrat Shaikh Sayyid Abdul Qadir Jilani Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh, Ameen
